RISERVA DUCALE ORO

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
DOCG - 2020 0.75lt

The prince of Chianti Classico

In 1927, the inaugural Riserva Ducale vintage was crafted as a homage to the wine-loving Duke of Aosta. Two decades later, in 1947, Ruffino commemorated the exceptional vintage by introducing the inaugural Riserva Ducale Oro, heralding the concept of Gran Selezione ahead of its time. Its potential for decades of aging is matched only by its historical significance.

Winemaking notes

The grapes are vinified separately, parcel by parcel. This is how Ruffino respects the territorial typicalities and variations in soil and climate. The fermentation takes place in temperature controlled steel tanks at 27° with constant punching down for about 10 days, followed by skin maceration for another 10 days. The malolactic fermentation occurs in concrete tanks.
