The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva appellation is widely recognized as the ultimate expression of Sangiovese, known as Brunello in the region. This wine originates from 25 hectares of vineyards in two distinct areas: "Greppi," characterized by steep hillsides, and "Le Logge," situated in the southern part of the appellation.

Aroma

A complex bouquet with fruity notes such as plums, redcurrants and macerated cherries accentuated by tobacco and chocolate notes.

Tasting profile

Rich in the mouth with clear red fruit flavors poised between freshness and well balanced tannins. An extremely elegant and enduring wine, which isn’t overly austere, distinguished by a pepper and clove finish.

Game, braised dishes, roasts.

Winemaking notes

The alcoholic fermentation and maceration, aided by regular pump over and délestage , take place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. The wine ages in oak barrels for approximately 36 months.

VINEYARD

Grapes are sourced exclusively from the Greppone Mazzi estate in Montalcino, where the vineyards are situated at elevations ranging from 210 to 460 meters above sea level. These hilly vineyards boast clay loam and silty loam soils enriched with a profusion of stones.

36 months in oak barrels.
